Indian Rupee Dips Against Stronger US Dollar
Indian Rupee settles at 89.70 against US Dollar on Dec 22, 2025. Factors like crude oil prices and trade talks weigh on sentiment.
MUMBAI- The Indian rupee settled 3 paise lower at 89.70 against the US dollar on Monday. Despite hitting an intraday high of 89.45, the domestic unit surrendered its gains as a recovery in global crude oil prices offset positive domestic equity performance.
Market analysts highlighted that lingering uncertainty surrounding US-India trade negotiations continues to weigh on investor sentiment. While a weak US dollar index provided some support at lower levels, the lack of immediate trade breakthroughs remains a key hurdle for the rupee.
