Vision Zero: Samsung Display Noida Hosts Landmark Safety Workshop

Kanpur : In a significant move toward eliminating industrial hazards, Samsung Display Noida hosted a high-level "Vision Zero" workshop today, coinciding with National Safety Week. Organized by the Indo-German Cooperation for Safety, Health and Wellbeing (IGC-SHW) in partnership with DGUV Germany and the International Social Security Association (ISSA), the event aimed to revolutionize safety protocols within the regional manufacturing landscape.

The workshop brought together over 45 key stakeholders from Samsung Display and its surrounding ancillary units. The core mission was clear: to embed the Vision Zero philosophy into daily operations, ensuring that the shadows of past industrial disasters, like the Bhopal tragedy, remain firmly in the past.

Karunesh Srivastava, Director of the Vision Zero Rating System India and former Asst. Director at DG FASLI, led the technical sessions. He detailed the Seven Golden Rules of the Vision Zero framework, emphasizing that safety is not merely a checklist but a cultural shift. "By integrating education with public awareness, we can motivate teams toward naturally safe behavior," Srivastava noted. He stressed that collective adherence to the Vision Zero Rating System is the only definitive path to achieving the "triple zero" target: zero accidents, zero diseases, and total wellbeing.

The success of the initiative was bolstered by the leadership at Samsung Display Noida, including Managing Director Seung Kyu Lee and EHS Group Leader Hyosin Kim. Coordination by Head of Safety Praveen Prakash Pandey, alongside safety officers Simran Singh and Mohit Yadav, ensured the workshop provided practical, actionable insights for the participants.

As industries in Noida continue to scale, this workshop serves as a blueprint for how international cooperation and local commitment can create a safer, more resilient workforce for the future.
