Uttar Pradesh Government Shifts 20 IAS Officers In Major Administrative Reshuffle
The Uttar Pradesh government implements a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 20 IAS officers across medical, revenue, and district departments.
Lucknow : In a major administrative overhaul, the Uttar Pradesh government has executed a late-night bureaucratic reshuffle, shifting 20 senior IAS officers across prominent state departments and district administrations. The changes impact key strategic portfolios including revenue, medical education, energy, labour, and rural livelihoods, while also replacing district-level leaders across three critical zones.
Among the most significant high-level appointments, Revenue Department Secretary Sudha Verma has been reassigned to take over as the state's new Labour Commissioner. In a direct swapping of roles within medical infrastructure management, Dr. Sarika Mohan, the outgoing Director General and Secretary of Medical Education, has been named the new Inspector General of Registration. Concurrently, Neha Sharma, who previously managed the registration portfolio, steps in to succeed Dr. Mohan as the Director General and Secretary of the Medical Education Department.
The power distribution and rural welfare sectors also experienced targeted shifts. Sandeep Bhagia has been moved from the State Tax Department to assume the position of Managing Director at Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (MVVNL), replacing Riya Kejriwal, who will now serve as Special Secretary for Child Development and Nutrition. Meanwhile, Arun Kumar, previously serving as Additional Director of Geology and Mining, has been named the Mission Director of the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission.
At the grass-roots administration level, the state government reshuffled Chief Development Officers (CDOs) in Azamgarh, Ballia, and Etawah to bolster administrative delivery. Rakesh Kumar Patel takes over as CDO of Azamgarh. Alok Kumar moves in as CDO of Ballia, while Sanjay Kumar Singh has been designated as CDO of Etawah. Official sources state that this major re-alignment is strictly targeted at accelerating public service execution and maximizing policy deployment across administrative tiers.
