Governor Kavinder Gupta Attends Shoolini Fair Grand Closing Ceremony

Solan :  The three-day national-level Shoolini Fair concluded on Sunday evening at the historic Thodo Ground in Solan, with Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta presiding over the grand closing ceremony. Accompanied by Lady Governor Bindu Gupta, the Governor lauded the historic festival as a beautiful reflection of the state's vibrant cultural heritage, communal harmony, and deep-rooted faith.

Addressing a massive gathering, Governor Gupta emphasized that traditional fairs are not merely celebratory events but crucial instruments for preserving a region’s unique identity, boosting local tourism, and strengthening social ties. He warmly congratulated the Solan district administration and the Shoolini Mela Committee for organizing the event in a well-coordinated manner while keeping its rich, traditional ethos completely intact.

During the event, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil formally welcomed and felicitated the Governor. Marking the occasion, Governor Gupta officially released a commemorative souvenir magazine highlighting the deep historical, cultural, and religious significance of the fair, which honors the local deity, Goddess Shoolini.  In a significant humanitarian gesture, the Governor also pinned badges onto newly inducted lifetime members of the Solan Red Cross Society, praising their commitment to voluntary public welfare.

The final evening wrapped up with spectacular folk dance and musical performances by regional Himachali artists. Earlier in the day, the Governor visited the historic Durga Temple located at Ganj Bazaar, offering prayers for the prosperity, good health, and well-being of the people of Himachal Pradesh. Prominent dignitaries, including local MLA Vinod Sultanpuri and Solan Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma, attended the function.
