PM Modi Launches ₹10,601-Cr Fertiliser Unit in Assam

NAMRUP- Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for a ₹10,601-crore brownfield ammonia-urea plant in Assam’s Dibrugarh district this Sunday. Operated by AVFCCL, the facility is designed with world-class technology to achieve an annual production capacity of 12.7 lakh metric tonnes.
Scheduled for commissioning by 2030, this project marks the revival of Namrup’s legacy in India’s gas-based fertiliser industry. It will cater to the agricultural needs of Northeast India, West Bengal, and Bihar while acting as a massive catalyst for local employment.
