Youth Dies After Attacking Mother and Jumping from Noida Highrise

Nodia: A tragic incident unfolded at a highrise residential township in Greater Noida West on Friday evening, where a 21-year-old youth jumped to his death from the fifth floor of an apartment complex just minutes after allegedly attacking his mother with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute.

The deceased, identified by law enforcement officials as Sagar Yadav, was a resident of the Radha Sky Garden Society, where he lived alongside his parents and his younger brother. According to the preliminary reports provided by the responding personnel from the Bishrakh police station, a heated argument broke out between the youth and his mother over a domestic matter. As the altercation escalated, Yadav reportedly picked up a knife from the kitchen and assaulted her, inflicting minor puncture wounds on her shoulder.

Immediately after the physical assault, the youth exited the apartment, proceeded to the building's common open area on the fifth floor, and plunged to the ground below. Distressed residents of the society rushed to the spot and desperately attempted to administer CPR before emergency medical services arrived at the scene. Yadav was quickly transported to a nearby private medical facility, where doctors officially declared him dead on arrival.

Local police took custody of the body and subsequently shifted it to a mortuary for an autopsy. Upon questioning the family members, investigators learned that the youth had been severely struggling with persistent mental health complications and mostly preferred to remain confined inside the house. Authorities confirmed that the injured mother was given swift medical attention at a local hospital and is currently out of danger. While no formal police complaint has been registered by the family, law enforcement is questioning neighbors to establish the exact sequence of events.
