IMA Lucknow and C.N.S. Hospital Host High-Level Cancer Dialogue
IMA Lucknow and C.N.S. Hospital experts discuss "United by Unique" theme and early cancer detection strategies on World Cancer Day.
Lucknow : Marking World Cancer Day 2026, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Lucknow, in partnership with C.N.S. Hospital, hosted an impactful panel discussion titled "Awareness on Common Cancers." The event, held at the hospital’s New Wing Auditorium, aimed to bridge the gap between medical expertise and public knowledge.
The session, moderated by IMA Lucknow Secretary Dr. Shweta Srivastava, featured a multidisciplinary panel of experts who dismantled the stigma surrounding the disease.
Dr. Neeraj Tandon emphasized that modern medicine has evolved to a point where a cancer diagnosis is no longer insurmountable; early diagnosis is the definitive bridge to a complete cure.
Dr. Sudip V. K. Garg advocated for a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, noting that surgical precision combined with integrated care yields the best patient outcomes.
Dr. Pankaj Dwivedi issued a stern call to action, urging the public to eliminate tobacco use—the single most preventable cause of cancer.
Aligning with the WHO’s 2026 theme, "United by Unique," Dr. Shweta Srivastava highlighted the shift toward personalized, people-centered care. She specifically urged women to prioritize regular screenings, stressing that individualized attention is the future of oncology.
The seminar saw a distinguished gathering, including Chief Guest and IMA President Dr. Manoj Asthana, Guest of Honour Dr. Ashok Nirala, and senior practitioners such as Dr. P. K. Gupta and Dr. Anil Tripathi. The collective message from the medical fraternity was clear: While science provides the cure, awareness provides the opportunity.
