Ambedkar Nagar: In a key development, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has commenced land acquisition for the construction of three major bypasses along the four-lane National Highway 135A, linking the religious cities of Vindhyachal and Ayodhya. The process will affect around 1,200 farmers, with the first phase of acquisition starting in the Akbarpur region. Notices have been issued to halt crop planting on the designated land, ensuring a smooth transition for construction.

The bypasses in Akbarpur, Surhurpur, and Khajuri are part of a 45 km stretch of NH 135A, with a total project cost of ₹1,653 crore. Spanning 24 km through Ambedkarnagar's Jalalpur and Akbarpur tehsils, the road will pass through 26 villages. This bypass network aims to ease congestion in the town while providing a vital ring road for Akbarpur, connecting the Akbarpur-Ayodhya road with Akbarpur-Mahrua, significantly improving regional connectivity and driving development.
