Kanpur Advocate Protection Act should be implemented in the state for the safety and protection of advocates
Kanpur. Speaking in the meeting on Advocate Protection Act, Pandit Ravindra Sharma, former President Lawyers Association said that due to lack of special protection law for the court officials, advocates are being continuously attacked, even murders are taking place, advocates are being harassed by writing unnecessary reports.
Advocate Protection Act was first implemented in Rajasthan. Advocate Protection Act was also implemented in Karnataka two days ago. Now Karnataka has become the second state in the country to implement Advocate Protection Act.
The purpose of this Protection Act is to prevent violence against advocates which hinders the advocates in discharging their duties and if anyone commits violence against the advocates, then provision of punishment and fine has been made for that so that the advocates can perform their duties without any fear or harassment. Sweets were distributed while thanking the Karnataka government.
The Yogi Government of the state had also constituted a drafting committee for the Advocate Protection Act, which has also taken necessary suggestions from across the state.
We demand from the state government that it should grace us by immediately implementing the Advocate Protection Act for the safety and protection of lives of advocates.
