Ahmedabad: Postal services are evolving beyond their traditional role of delivering letters and parcels, now playing a crucial part in financial inclusion and Digital India initiatives. At a review meeting in Rajkot, Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav highlighted the department’s commitment to connecting people with government welfare schemes like India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and Aadhaar services. With postmen now operating as mobile banks, essential services like bill payments, insurance, and DBT are being made accessible at citizens' doorsteps.

The Saurashtra and Kachchh region has seen remarkable growth, with over 45 lakh savings accounts, to date, a remarkable 9.39 lakh IPPB accounts and 3.97 lakh Sukanya Samriddhi accounts have been established. Significantly, 426 villages have been designated as ‘Sampoorna Sukanya Samriddhi Grams,’ while 740 villages proudly bear the title of ‘Sampoorna Bima Grams.’

Krishna Kumar Yadav emphasized the importance of further expanding these services through extensive campaigns and Dak Chaupal programs, ensuring prompt grievance resolution and seamless access to government schemes.
