Kanpur Celebrates 103 Years of Swaraj Ashram
Prominent leaders inaugurate exhibition showcasing Khadi textiles and handicrafts, promoting sustainable living.
Kanpur: Kanpur’s Mayor, Pramila Pandey, inaugurated an exhibition at Swaraj Ashram, marking its 103rd anniversary. The event, attended by Minister Prem Singh, celebrated the Ashram’s long-standing commitment to promoting Khadi and rural industries. The Bureau of Indian Standards presented the institution with ISO 150 9001:2008 certification, highlighting its commitment to quality and excellence.
The exhibition features a vast collection of Khadi products, including cotton, silk, and poly Khadi apparel, herbal medicines, and designer home goods. Both the central and state governments are offering substantial discounts on Khadi items, making them accessible to the public. Open daily from 10 AM to 8 PM, the exhibition aims to educate visitors about the significance of Khadi and Mahatma Gandhi’s vision for self-reliance and sustainable living.
