Himachal Pradesh Govt To Recruit Ten Thousand School Teachers By Year 2027
Himachal government plans to recruit ten thousand teachers by 2027 to upgrade infrastructure and modernise state public education.
Mandi : The Himachal Pradesh government has announced an ambitious roadmap to overhaul its public education system, pledging to recruit more than 10,000 teachers and lecturers across the state by 2027. State Education Minister Rohit Thakur revealed this decisive blueprint during a public address in the Drang Assembly constituency.
He emphasized that the massive hiring drive forms the backbone of a broader strategy aimed at modernising classroom learning and fixing regional staffing gaps. The state has already finalized nearly 8,000 academic appointments recently, signaling aggressive progress toward fulfilling its target. Beyond human resources, the state administration is funneling structured budgetary allocations into restoring school infrastructure severely compromised by recent natural calamities.
Thakur confirmed that multi-phase financial packages are being deployed dynamically to rebuild damaged structures and establish new, resilient facilities, including upgraded senior secondary complexes in the Mandi district.
The state's aggressive structural reforms are backed by exceptional academic fundamentals. Himachal Pradesh officially logged a stellar 99.30% literacy rate, solidifying its status as an entirely literate state. To build on this foundation, the administration is focusing heavily on global exposure and technological integration.
For the first time, the government sponsored international educational tours for high-performing students from remote, rural schools to bridge the historical exposure gap. Furthermore, the state reported near-perfect utilization of central funding allocated under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. The upcoming hiring waves will prioritize transparent, merit-based selection mechanics to place skilled educators in both standard and CBSE-affiliated government institutions.
By systematically combining robust structural reconstruction with thousands of new faculty positions, the state aims to secure a globally competitive educational baseline for its youth over the next few years.
