Nineteen Year Old Arrested With Heroin In Himachals Nurpur District Police Checking Drive

Nurpur : As part of an ongoing statewide campaign against illegal narcotics, the Nurpur police department apprehended a 19-year-old youth following the recovery of commercial contraband heroin during a routine patrolling and vehicle checking operation. The arrest took place along a strategic check-post route near the border belt, where security personnel have stepped up surveillance to curb interstate drug trafficking networks.

According to police officials, a dedicated team stationed at a naka signaled a suspicious individual to stop for identification and search. Upon inspecting the suspect's belongings, police recovered a specified quantity of heroin (commonly referred to locally as 'chitta') hidden in his possession. The suspect was immediately taken into custody, and the recovered illicit substance was seized in accordance with mandatory procedural guidelines.

A formal case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
