Multi-Crore Property Trail Exposed In Ram Temple Sacred Donation Theft Investigation
the Special Investigation Team uncovered high-value properties and cash linked to accused Anukalp Mishra and his brother-in-law in Ayodhya.
Ayodhya: The ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the multi-crore donation embezzlement at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple has exposed a sprawling financial and property trail. Investigators are focusing heavily on arrested accused Anukalp Mishra and his brother-in-law, Lavkush Mishra, whose newly acquired luxury lifestyles completely defy their modest, known income profiles.
According to police sources, the 22-year-old Anukalp Mishra, who was employed via an outsourcing agency on a monthly salary of just ₹15,000, allegedly accumulated assets worth millions. Investigators have traced a ₹65-lakh house in Ayodhya city, a newly constructed luxury farmhouse on the outskirts of his native Basawa village, a high-end motorcycle, and a recently booked Mahindra Scorpio SUV.
Furthermore, Mishra allegedly hosted a lavish, seven-day public religious event in April that drew prominent local figures, raising significant flags regarding his source of funding. The conspiracy deepened when Anukalp allegedly manipulated procedural entry to get his brother-in-law, Lavkush Mishra, inducted into the secure cash-counting team.
The nepotistic placement gave the duo unmonitored access to millions in daily cash offerings. Following their arrests, raids at Lavkush’s ancestral home led to a shocking recovery: over ₹12 lakh in stolen cash was found hidden beneath cow-dung heaps and concealed inside cupboards. The Ayodhya Development Authority has also slapped notices on an under-construction commercial building registered under Lavkush's wife's name for severe building norm violations.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Revenue Department have joined forces with the police, retrieving over 20 distinct land registry records belonging to the eight arrested accused. If these high-value acquisitions align with their temple employment dates, the state will officially designate them as "proceeds of crime." Comprehensive forensic audits of bank accounts, lockers, and CCTV footage are underway to dismantle the coordinated insider network.
