Foreign Secretary visits Nepal to further strengthen bilateral relations

New Delhi. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri made an official visit to Nepal to further strengthen bilateral relations between India and Nepal. During this, he met Nepal President Ramchandra Poudel, Nepali PM K. P. Sharma Oli and Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba.

Misri, who arrived on a two-day visit to Nepal on Sunday, was given a grand welcome. Sharing some pictures of this visit, Randhir Jaiswal, official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, wrote on the social media platform 'X', Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met Nepal PM K. P. Sharma Oli.

The Foreign Secretary reaffirmed the civilizational, close and multifaceted relations between India and Nepal and discussed ways to give impetus to various areas of bilateral cooperation.

Jaiswal wrote in another post that Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri made a courtesy call on Nepal President Ramchandra Poudel. Extending best wishes from the Indian leadership, he discussed ways to further strengthen relations in all areas.

During this visit, Misri held detailed talks with Nepal's Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba on bilateral matters of mutual interest and ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas. Foreign Secretary Misri also met his counterpart Sewa Lamsal, during which they discussed the continued development of cooperation and ways to take it forward.

The visit of the Foreign Secretary continues the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries and reflects the priority India gives to its relations with Nepal under its 'Neighbor First' policy.
