Indian Railways Boosts Special Trains for Festivals
Indian Railways operates 6,556 special trains this festive season, enhancing travel for millions.
Lucknow: Indian Railway is launching 6,556 special trains from October 1 to November 30, 2024, to support travelers during the Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath Puja festivals. This year marks a significant increase in service compared to last year's 4,429 special trains, ensuring passengers can reunite with family and celebrate comfortably.
The Northern Railway will operate 2,944 festival special trains, a remarkable 172% increase from last year's 1,082. Catering primarily to travelers heading to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and other eastern states, these trains aim to alleviate ticketing pressure during the busy festive season, ensuring a smooth travel experience for millions.
