MUMBAI- The Indian equity benchmarks, Sensex and Nifty 50, settled in the red on Wednesday, December 24, amid volatile trade. Low institutional activity during the holiday-shortened week and mixed global cues led to a cautious approach among investors on Dalal Street.
The BSE Sensex dropped 116.14 points to finish at 85,408.70, while the NSE Nifty slipped below the 26,150 mark. Dr. Reddy’s and IT giants like Infosys faced selling pressure, whereas Bajaj Finance emerged as a top gainer in the session.
