CHANDIGARH-To combat the escalating threat of cross-border smuggling, the Punjab Government has requested ₹175 crore from the Center. DGP Gaurav Yadav announced plans to procure 17 advanced anti-drone systems next year to intercept narcotics and weapons entering from the International Border.

In addition to hardware, Punjab Police will launch two specialized software platforms to tackle organized crime through scientific data analysis. These tech-driven initiatives aim to dismantle criminal networks and strengthen the state's second line of defense against drone-based security threats.
