Ambedkar Nagar : Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, NTPC Tanda successfully concluded a one-month free residential Girls’ Empowerment Workshop on June 16, 2025. The closing ceremony was held at the Sargam Auditorium, marking the culmination of an intensive training program aimed at the holistic development of young girls from the surrounding areas.

The event began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by Mr. Jaydev Parida, Executive Director of NTPC Tanda, and Mrs. Sanghamitra Parida, President of the Garima Mahila Mandal. The ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including Mr. Ajay Singh Yadav, General Manager (Operations & Maintenance), senior project officials, members of the women’s wing, participating girls, their parents, principals, teachers, and village heads.

The workshop was specially designed for girls aged 10 to 12 years, providing them with comprehensive residential training over one month. The program covered diverse areas such as education, art, self-defense, yoga, and personality development. Participants were offered a safe and clean living environment along with complete facilities for accommodation, nutritious meals, healthcare, and recreational activities.

The closing ceremony showcased the remarkable growth and talent of the participants. The young girls presented cultural performances, including Kathak and yoga demonstrations, reflecting the skills they acquired during the workshop.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Parida described the initiative as an inspiring step towards the overall development of young girls in the region. He remarked, "This effort is a small yet significant contribution towards empowering our daughters and helping them realize their dreams. Our goal has been to give wings to their aspirations."

The program received enthusiastic support from the entire NTPC Tanda community. The successful coordination of the event was managed by Deputy General Manager (HR), Mr. Anurag Sinha, while Mrs. Nishta Singh, CSR Officer, efficiently conducted the program proceedings. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Rajneesh Khaitan, Additional General Manager (HR), who appreciated the dedication of all stakeholders involved in making the program a success.

This CSR initiative by NTPC Tanda highlights the organization’s strong commitment to social development and gender equality. By focusing on girls' education, safety, and self-reliance, NTPC aims to contribute to the long-term empowerment of women, especially in rural and semi-urban areas.

The month-long program not only imparted valuable skills but also built confidence and self-esteem among the participants. It serves as a model for other organizations looking to support community welfare and upliftment through structured empowerment programs.
