GSVM Medical College Inaugurates NAMS Cell for Research Advancement

Kanpur :  GSVM Medical College in Kanpur has marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of a National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) Cell. The new cell is set to provide a dedicated platform for academic and research development for both students and faculty. The inauguration ceremony was led by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Director of Medical Education and Head of the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at Era Lucknow Medical College.

During the event, Dr. Prasad delivered a guest lecture, offering in-depth insights into two key topics: an introduction to NAMS India and the interpretation of chest X-rays. His lecture provided a valuable learning experience for the attendees, highlighting the practical application of medical knowledge.

According to Prof. Dr. Sanjay Kala, Principal of GSVM Medical College, the establishment of the NAMS Cell will open up numerous opportunities. Students and teachers will be able to access fellowships, workshops, seminars, and publication opportunities, which will significantly accelerate their academic and professional growth. He further explained that the cell will serve as a guiding force for students in their medical research endeavors, helping them to establish a presence on national platforms.

Dr. Renu Gupta, the Nodal Officer for the new cell, stated that its primary objective is to connect faculty, residents, and postgraduate students with the academic activities of NAMS. "The cell aims to encourage research and provide a forum for dialogue with scholars at the national level," she added.

The program was presided over by Dr. Richa Giri, the Vice Principal, who expressed the institution's commitment to maintaining continuous academic excellence. She emphasized that linking with a prestigious organization like NAMS would open doors to national-level academic and research opportunities for the college's staff and students.

The academic session was conducted by Dr. Shalini, Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology. The inauguration was well-attended by several prominent figures, including Chief Superintendent Dr. R.K. Singh, Head of the Psychiatry Department Dr. Dhananjay Chaudhary, Professor in the Ophthalmology Department Dr. Shalini Mohan, and Head of the Microbiology Department Madhu Yadav, along with a large number of students.
