KGMU Hosts Life-Saving Cardiac Awareness Workshop on BCLS and CPR
Title: KGMU Hosts Life-Saving Cardiac Awareness Workshop on BCLS and CPR Slug: KGMU Cardiac Workshop Meta Description: KGMU, in collaboration with IMA, held a BCLS and CPR workshop to train medical students and doctors on cardiac emergencies.

The session was led by the distinguished experts, Dr. Vinita Dwivedi and Dr. Avdhesh Dwivedi. They began by providing a comprehensive theoretical overview of the subject, detailing each step to be taken during a heart-related emergency. Following the theoretical session, the experts conducted a hands-on practical training. This included a live demonstration of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and other life-support techniques. This well-structured training method allowed the participants to gain a deep understanding of the subject and build confidence through practical application.
A highlight of the event was a special session on “The Life-Saving Importance of Cardiac Awareness and CPR,” delivered by Dr. Vishal Srivastava, a Senior Cardiologist from Max Hospital, Lucknow. Drawing from his extensive clinical experience, Dr. Srivastava emphasized that heart diseases are on the rise, and in a cardiac emergency, time is the most critical factor. He stressed that the timely application of CPR during a sudden cardiac arrest could be the decisive factor in saving a patient’s life.
Dr. Srivastava strongly advocated that the knowledge of CPR should not be confined to medical professionals alone but should be extended to the general public. He stated that empowering common people with CPR skills would enable them to provide immediate help during a cardiac emergency, which could save countless lives.
In recognition of their effective training and guidance, the organizing committee honored Dr. Vinita Dwivedi, Dr. Avdhesh Dwivedi (Ayush Department), and Dr. Vishal Srivastava with mementos.
The workshop received collaborative support from several key contributors, including Dr. Sunil Yadav, a Pharmacy Officer at Civil Hospital, the non-profit organization Khushi Foundation, and Max Hospital. This collective effort underscored the community-wide commitment to promoting life-saving skills and emergency preparedness.
