CHENNAI-At the Shaastra 2026 festival in IIT Madras, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar delivered a firm message regarding India’s "bad neighbors." Referring to Operation Sindhu, he asserted that India possesses the absolute right to self-defense against persistent state-sponsored terrorism.
Jaishankar emphasized that cooperation, specifically the Indus Waters Treaty, cannot coexist with decades of cross-border violence. He stated that "good neighborliness" is a two-way street, and India will prioritize national security and the protection of its citizens above all prescriptions.
