Prakash Padukone Says Granddaughter Dua Is Growing Up Very Fast
Legendary badminton player Prakash Padukone shares delightful insights into granddaughter Dua's friendly personality and how she loves greeting everyone.
Mumbai : Legendary Indian badminton player Prakash Padukone has shared some heartwarming insights into grandparenthood, revealing that his granddaughter, Dua Padukone Singh—the daughter of actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh—is growing up remarkably fast and has developed a highly social, friendly personality.
In a candid interaction, the former sports icon admitted that stepping into the role of a grandparent has brought a wave of transformative emotions he never anticipated. He confessed that during his active playing years, constant global travel often kept him away from witnessing the day-to-day milestones of his own daughters, Deepika and Anisha. However, with little Dua, he is thoroughly enjoying noticing every minor developmental change.
"She is growing up quite fast and is at a very interesting stage right now," Padukone shared warmly. Describing her outgoing nature, he added, "She’s a very friendly child, so she likes to mix with people. She literally says hello to almost everybody." He credited her high level of confidence and curiosity to the fact that she has been traveling with her parents from a very young age.
Padukone also revealed that whenever Dua visits her grandparents in Bengaluru, he and his wife, Ujjala, make a conscious effort to give her a taste of ordinary, everyday life away from the intense media spotlight that usually follows celebrity children. He fondly recalled taking her on local Metro train rides, traveling in auto-rickshaws, and enjoying evening outings to Cubbon Park.
Praising his daughter and son-in-law's parenting style, Padukone termed Deepika and Ranveer as deeply "hands-on parents." He noted that while Deepika handles a significant portion of the daily responsibilities, Ranveer actively steps up whenever he is free from his shooting commitments, ensuring a grounded upbringing for the toddler.
