UP Police Constable Kapil Dinkar Wins One Lakh On India's Got Latent

Mumbai : In a highly entertaining turn of events on the second episode of Samay Raina's hit reality web show India's Got Latent Season 2, a serving Uttar Pradesh Police constable left the celebrity panel stunned by walking away with the top cash prize. Kapil Dinkar, a real-life cop who doubles as a musician and writer, won ₹1 lakh after securing a perfect 10/10 score from all the judges for his original musical performance.

Dinkar initially created massive panic and confusion when he walked onto the stage in his official police uniform, complete with his service gear. Host Samay Raina assumed it was a contestant wearing a costume as a rule-breaking gimmick and strictly warned him against it.

However, the atmosphere quickly shifted to nervous laughter and applause when Dinkar clarified that he was an active-duty constable who joined the force in 2021 to fulfill his mother’s lifelong dream.  Beyond his police responsibilities, Dinkar revealed that he has a rare, formal authorization from the police department to professionally pursue his musical calling.

To balance both worlds, he deliberately chooses night shifts so that his mornings remain entirely free for composing melodies and writing lyrics. Remarkably, he is also a published author who has already written three books and has eight more in progress.  During a humorous exchange, panelist Haarsh Limbachiyaa jokingly requested that Dinkar should be the one to arrest him if he ever committed a crime, to which the cop swiftly shot back, asking why he would even think of committing a crime in the first place. Alongside fellow panelists Kiku Sharda, Chandan Prabhakar, and Balraj Singh Ghai, the judges were completely won over by his witty banter and singing talent, unanimously awarding him the ultimate prize.
