NEW DELHI- Bharti Airtel has announced a significant top-level leadership transition. Gopal Vittal, who steered the company for thirteen years, will transition to Executive Vice Chairman on January 1, 2026, while Shashwat Sharma has been appointed as the new Managing Director and CEO.
Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal expressed confidence in this seamless succession plan. Along with the CEO change, Soumen Ray will become Group CFO and Akhil Garg will step up as India CFO, ensuring continuity and digital growth for the telecom giant.
