Lucknow : SKDMUN 2.0, the much-anticipated edition of the SKD Academy’s Model United Nations, commenced today with great enthusiasm and participation from over 500 student delegates across the city. The two-day conference, taking place on July 19 and 20, 2025, aims to offer young minds a platform to engage in simulated diplomatic dialogue and tackle pressing global issues with innovative solutions.

The event was inaugurated with an inspiring address by Mr. Manish Singh, Hon’ble Director of SKD Group, who emphasized the role of youth in shaping both national and international narratives. He welcomed the participants, faculty, and dignitaries with a strong message about the growing need for diplomacy and constructive dialogue in today’s rapidly changing world. “Young individuals hold the key to resolving the problems of tomorrow,” he said, encouraging delegates to take ownership of global challenges.

Accompanying him at the opening ceremony were Dr. Ashish Singh (Clinical Director), Ms. Nisha Singh (Deputy Director), and Ms. Kusum Batra (Assistant Director), who collectively echoed a vision of nurturing future changemakers and global leaders through platforms like SKDMUN.

The conference features nine high-impact committees, each offering a unique theme and simulation, challenging students to research, debate, and propose policies on topics ranging from international human rights to national policy and creative diplomacy. The participating committees include:

United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)

United Nations Security Council (UNSC)

United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW)

Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)

Lok Sabha

Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly (UPLA)

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB)

Joint Crisis Committee (JCC)

International Press (IP)

Delegates will engage in intense deliberations, research-driven arguments, and diplomatic negotiations aimed at resolving simulated global and regional conflicts. The inaugural session kicked off with a powerful video montage introducing each of the nine committees, setting the stage for high-energy debates and thoughtful discussions.

Beyond formal debate, SKDMUN 2.0 offers attendees the opportunity to build networks, collaborate on innovative policy solutions, and gain deep insights from expert mentors and faculty members. The event promises to enhance skills such as public speaking, critical thinking, teamwork, and global awareness—crucial for students aspiring to become tomorrow’s leaders in international relations, governance, and diplomacy.

As the two-day summit unfolds, SKDMUN 2.0 is set to become a transformative experience, encouraging the youth of Lucknow to think globally, act diplomatically, and lead with purpose.
