Awareness Program to Prevent Rising Cancer in Women

A breast health awareness program for women was organized at the Upper India Sugar Exchange Maternity and Child Hospital. The breast cancer workshop commenced under the guidance of the college principal, head of the gynecology department, Prof. Dr. Renu Gupta, and nodal officer Dr. Neena Gupta. During the program, Dr. Renu Gupta explained that breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, affecting approximately 32 out of 100 women.
However, if detected early, it is completely treatable. Dr. Shaili Agarwal informed the women about the technique of breast self-examination and said that every woman must do self-examination every month and in case of any abnormal change like lump, swelling, skin change, blood, fluid discharge or persistent pain, consult a doctor immediately. At the end of the program, Dr. Preeti Tyagi made the women present take a pledge to have a balanced diet, regular exercise, adopt a healthy lifestyle and get themselves examined from time to time. Department head Dr. Renu Gupta, nodal Dr. Neena Gupta, Dr. Divya Tripathi, Dr. Rashmi Gupta, Dr. Suchita Tripathi, Dr. Pankhuri Jaiswal, Dr. Farheen Siddiqui, Dr. Fatima were present in the program.
