Mumbai: The television fraternity was plunged into deep mourning following the tragic demise of popular actress Sanchita Ugale, who died by suicide on Sunday evening. The thirty-year-old actress, widely recognized for portraying Diya Tandon in the long-running television drama Kumkum Bhagya, was discovered hanging at her family residence in the Nalasopara area of Mumbai. According to officials from the Achole Police Station,
the tragic incident transpired between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM when Sanchita was reportedly alone at home. Her parents and sister, who had gone out for personal work, returned later in the evening to discover her hanging from the ceiling fan with a saree. They immediately alerted the local police, who rushed to the scene and took custody of the body.
Law enforcement authorities confirmed that no suicide note was recovered from the premises. An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered, and the body has been forwarded for a comprehensive post-mortem examination.The sudden news sent shockwaves across social media, leaving millions of fans and co-stars in absolute disbelief. Intriguingly, less than nineteen hours before taking the extreme step, the lively actress had posted a vibrant, smiling reel on her Instagram account lip-syncing to a Bollywood song, giving no public indication of personal distress.Beyond her acclaimed multi-year stint in Kumkum Bhagya, Sanchita’s versatile acting portfolio featured prominent roles in major television series such as Wagle Ki Duniya, Sajan Ghar, and Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi.
She had recently completed a significant professional milestone, transitioning to the silver screen to portray the younger version of Tararani in actor Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhaava. Police have initiated a full investigation, scanning her digital devices and financial records to determine the underlying circumstances behind the tragedy.
