Prayagraj : In a proud moment for the University of Allahabad (UoA), Dr. Sakshi Yadav, a former researcher from the Department of Anthropology, has been selected for the prestigious Post-Doctoral Fellowship by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi.

Researching Tribal Wisdom and Medical Anthropology Dr. Yadav’s upcoming research will delve into the lives of the Korwa tribe, a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) in Chhattisgarh. Her study aims to explore the intersection of Medical Anthropology and indigenous knowledge systems. This research is expected to provide critical insights into how traditional wisdom can be integrated with modern health perspectives.

A Journey of Academic Excellence Dr. Sakshi completed her doctoral degree under the guidance of Prof. Rahul Patel, the Head of the Department of Anthropology at UoA. Speaking on her achievement, she credited her success to the unwavering support of her mentor and her family.

Dr. Sakshi belongs to a family dedicated to public service; her father, Brahmamurti Yadav, currently serves as a Prosecution Officer in the Bhadohi district, and her mother, Pushpa Yadav, along with other family members, played a pivotal role in her academic journey. This fellowship stands as a testament to her dedication to tribal studies and social science research.
