Apollo Medics Lucknow’s ‘Rise Above’ Dialogue Links Inner Strength with Better Health

Lucknow . Apollo Medics Super Specialty Hospital, Lucknow, brought together spirituality and medicine at ‘Rise Above: A Dialogue on Inner Strength’, a session built on the idea that a resilient mind and a healthy body go hand in hand.

Spiritual speaker Sister BK Shivani was the main voice on emotional wellbeing. She said circumstances in life will not always be favourable, but how we respond remains in our hands. Keeping the mind calm and choosing the right outlook, she explained, helps people handle hardship with patience and confidence. Understanding our own thoughts and emotions, she added, builds an inner stability that carries us through every challenge, and real strength lies in that stability rather than only in changing outside conditions.

The medical perspective came from two senior doctors. Dr. Mayank Somani, MD and CEO of Apollo Medics, said many people ignore health problems until they begin disturbing everyday life. He urged timely tests and proper treatment for thyroid disorders and encouraged regular health check-ups. Speaking on critical care, he described the ICU as a place where specialist teams monitor patients around the clock and act immediately when needed, adding that prompt and proper care can prove decisive.

Dr. Harit Chaturvedi, CEO and Clinical Head of the Oncology Network at Apollo Hospitals Group, spoke on cancer awareness and screening. He noted that knowing the disease, its type and its stage is central to treatment, and that early detection allows better decisions on the way forward. He cautioned against overlooking unusual bodily changes or symptoms that persist, and advised consulting a specialist without delay.

The event was held with participation from FICCI Ladies Organization (FICCI FLO) Lucknow, including Chairperson Simran Sahni and the executive committee. Sahni said such gatherings help people see life’s difficulties from a fresh angle and recognise their own strength. She added that mixing spiritual thought with key health topics raises awareness, and the aim is to make people more alert about their lives and wellbeing.

The programme highlighted the link between mental strength and physical health, encouraging attendees to face challenges with confidence while staying informed about their health.
