Rail Robocop "ASC Arjun" Scores First Win: AI-Powered Droid Bags Habitual Offenders at Vizag Station

Prayagraj :  In a landmark moment for railway security, the AI-driven "ASC Arjun" Robocop successfully identified and helped apprehend two notorious criminals at Visakhapatnam Station. This marks the first time an autonomous rail robot has utilized real-time Facial Recognition System (FRS) technology to track down habitual offenders in a crowded public space.

The High-Tech Pursuit The incident unfolded at approximately 8:10 PM on Platform No. 1. While performing its routine patrol, "ASC Arjun" scanned the crowd and instantly flagged two suspicious individuals. By cross-referencing live visuals with a pre-loaded database of known criminals, the robot transmitted an urgent alert to the RPF CCTV Control Room.

Criminals with Extensive Rap Sheets Acting on the robot's precise intelligence, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) intercepted and detained the suspects. The individuals were identified as:

Hadapa Shiva: A veteran criminal with 50 prior cases registered against him.

G. Bhangaru: An offender with a history of 12 criminal cases.

A Revolutionary Leap in Safety This success story highlights the "revolutionary potential" of the ASC Arjun droid in crime prevention. By automating the identification of offenders in dense crowds, the Indian Railways is moving toward a future where technology acts as a force multiplier for security personnel. The precision of AI-powered FRS ensures that even in the busiest stations, safety is never compromised.
