NEW DELHI- Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, has officially acquired a majority stake in Tamil Nadu-based Udhaiyams Agro Foods. This strategic move brings the iconic thirty-year-old brand, known for its high-quality pulses and rice, under the Reliance umbrella.
The joint venture allows current promoters S. Sudhakar and S. Dinakar to retain a minority interest while leveraging Reliance's massive distribution network. This acquisition aligns with Reliance’s vision to scale heritage Indian brands and dominate the competitive branded staples market across India.
