Similarly, Dr. Pragnesh Kumar, a specialist in Orthopedics, has been transferred from Jalaun Medical College to GSVM, bringing much-needed support to the high-demand orthopedic services at the hospital.
In Dermatology, Dr. D.P. Shivhare, previously promoted and sent to Banda Medical College, has had his transfer order reversed. He will now continue to serve at GSVM, where his expertise in skin disorders has been highly valued.
Also joining the Kanpur institution is Dr. Saurabh Tripathi, Associate Professor of Community Medicine, who was earlier posted in Banda. His experience in public health and preventive medicine will contribute to both academics and field-based initiatives.
Rounding out the list is Dr. Aparajita, Associate Professor in the Dentistry Department, whose transfer from Azamgarh to GSVM Medical College has been finalized. Her arrival will boost dental education and treatment services at the college.
The return of these experienced doctors is a strategic administrative move aimed at balancing faculty distribution across government medical institutions. For GSVM Medical College, which caters to thousands of patients from Kanpur and surrounding regions, the return of these senior faculty members marks a positive development.
The medical college administration has welcomed the doctors and expressed optimism about the improvements their presence will bring to clinical services, student mentoring, and medical research.
The Uttar Pradesh government's decision reflects a renewed focus on strengthening medical education and healthcare delivery in major cities like Kanpur. It is also part of a broader effort to implement the National Medical Commission's guidelines for quality faculty distribution and patient care.
Local healthcare observers and patients alike have responded positively, with expectations that waiting times, specialist consultations, and academic rigor will now improve at GSVM.
