Bharatiya Yoga Parishad Promotes ‘Green Yoga’ with Tree Campaign and Awareness Drives on Yoga Day
Green Yoga campaign by Bharatiya Yoga Parishad on Yoga Day combined tree planting, workshops, and mass yoga awareness across Lucknow.

As a major highlight, a mass yoga event titled “Yoga Sangam” was held at Janeshwar Mishra Park, Gate No. 7 on the morning of June 21 to mark the 11th International Day of Yoga. The session was led by renowned yoga instructors Samreen and Nitika Dubey, with large public participation.
In addition to the yoga session, an environmental awareness workshop was conducted under the Green Yoga campaign at Jawaharlal Nehru National Youth Center near Rumi Gate. Chief Guest Rampal Sharma, President of the Youth Center, provided motivational insights, while Dr. C.P. Sharma, former Special Secretary of UP Legislative Assembly, spoke on the essence of Green Yoga and adopting yogic living.
Other notable speakers included Dr. Rajesh Srivastava, Dr. Ankit Kumar Soni, and experts who emphasized making yoga a daily habit and embracing eco-conscious practices.
As part of the evening awareness efforts, the Parishad organized public outreach programs at historic sites like Satkhanda, Ghantaghar, and Rumi Gate to sensitize people about Green Yoga’s environmental mission.
Prominent supporters like LLC Pawan Singh Chauhan, former corporator Ravi Shankar Mishra, and many others appreciated the council’s initiatives. Several social organizations and educational institutions played a vital role in making the event a success, including:

Volunteers like Neelu Pandey, Yogita Mishra, Kunal Verma, Asha Mishra, Jazbi Raza, Anwar Abbas, Indrajit, Dr. VP Sharma, and many more contributed actively to the cause.
The Bharatiya Yoga Parishad expressed heartfelt gratitude to all collaborators and pledged to continue raising awareness under the "One Tree in Mother’s Name" campaign, with sustained support from the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga and Ministry of AYUSH.
