Know India Program’ will be held in July
The 75th edition of the Know India Program is scheduled from 7 to 27 July 2024
New Delhi. Know India Program (KIP) is an initiative of the Ministry of External Affairs for Indian diaspora youth. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the primary objective of KIP is to foster closer ties between Indian diaspora youth and their ancestral homeland by enhancing their understanding of India.
Started in 2003-04, the program provides a platform for Youth of Indian Origin (PIOs) to become familiar with contemporary India through an approximately three-week 'knowledge tourism' programme, which exposes them to various aspects of India's growth and development. Introduces the aspects. Guidelines for potential participants are available on the official website ‘kip.gov.in’.
About 35 to 40 overseas youth of Indian origin are selected for each program based on recommendations received from Heads of Indian Missions/Posts abroad.
The selected participants are taken on tours to various places in the country and provided full hospitality during the duration of the programme.
The government bears 90 percent of the total cost of air tickets for the participants after successful completion of the program.
