President Murmu to Attend AIIMS and Ravenshaw Convocations During Two-Day Odisha Visit

New Delhi :  President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to undertake a two-day official visit to Odisha starting Monday, July 14, according to a statement released by Rashtrapati Bhavan.

During the visit, President Murmu will participate in important academic and developmental events in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, reinforcing her continued engagement with her home state.

On the first day of her tour, July 14, the President will preside over the fifth convocation ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar. The convocation will witness the presence of distinguished faculty, medical graduates, and dignitaries from across the country. Her address is expected to highlight the role of AIIMS in strengthening India’s healthcare system and encouraging young professionals in the medical field.

The following day, July 15, President Murmu will travel to Cuttack where she will grace the 13th annual convocation of Ravenshaw University—one of Odisha's most prestigious academic institutions with a rich legacy.

In addition to her academic engagements, the President will also lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of three key buildings of Ravenshaw Girls' High School, a historic institution in Cuttack. This initiative aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to improve educational infrastructure, especially in institutions with strong historical and cultural significance.

President Murmu’s visit carries personal and symbolic significance as she hails from Odisha and has consistently shown deep interest in promoting education, women’s empowerment, and regional development.
