Dr. Ramniwas ‘Manav’ Honored with Atal Bihari Vajpayee National Poetry Award (2022)
Ramniwas ‘Manav’, a renowned Hindi poet and dohakār, has been conferred the prestigious Atal Bihari Vajpayee National Poetry Award.

Bhopal :In a celebration of poetic excellence and literary prowess, Dr. Ramniwas ‘Manav’ has been awarded the prestigious Atal Bihari Vajpayee National Poetry Award (2022) by the Madhya Pradesh Sahitya Akademi, Bhopal. The award, a testament to his profound contributions to contemporary Hindi poetry, was presented during a grand felicitation ceremony at Ravindra Bhavan.
The event saw Dr. ‘Manav’ being honored with a shawl, a citation, a ceremonial coconut, and a cheque of one lakh rupees. The presentation was made by distinguished personalities, including Shri N. P. Namdev, Director of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh; Padmashri Sushil Doshi; and Dr. Vikas Dave, Director of the Akademi.
Dr. ‘Manav’ is celebrated as one of the most visionary voices in modern Hindi literature. With a prolific career spanning several decades, he has authored sixty-four published works, including seventeen volumes of verse. His versatility is evident in his mastery of a dozen poetic forms, but it is as a dohakār—a master of the couplet—that he has achieved his most lasting fame and influence.
His literary impact extends far beyond the borders of India. Having been honored nearly one hundred and fifty times by premier institutions in countries like Japan, Nepal, and the United Arab Emirates, his works have garnered global acclaim. Dr. ‘Manav’s’ poetry is a staple in educational institutions, from schools to universities across India, and his writings have been translated into numerous major world languages. His influence on academia is particularly notable, with his work inspiring fifty-one M.Phil. dissertations, twenty-two Ph.D. theses, and even one D.Litt. dissertation.
Currently, Dr. ‘Manav’ serves as the Professor and Dean of Cultural Affairs at Singhania University, Rajasthan. In this role, he continues to share his poetic vision and scholarly insights, shaping the next generation of literary minds.
