IFFCO Launches Massive Plantation Drive under “One Tree for Mother 2.0” Campaign

Prayagraj : In a vibrant step towards environmental conservation, IFFCO (Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited) Ghiyanagar, Phulpur, undertook an extensive plantation drive as part of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change's flagship initiative — One Tree for Mother 2.0.

The plantation event took place in the IFFCO colony's Brahmaputra Sector, where 4,500 saplings were planted, marking a strong statement of commitment to climate action and ecological responsibility. The campaign honors maternal bonds by encouraging every citizen to plant a tree in the name of their mother or Mother Earth.

The chief guest for the event, Mr. Vijay, Regional Officer of the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Prayagraj, lauded the efforts of IFFCO in contributing actively to the nationwide initiative. Speaking at the event, he remarked, “This campaign, launched on World Environment Day (June 5, 2025), signifies not only a connection to our roots but also a pledge to ensure a sustainable future. The second phase reflects the continuity and deepening of the Prime Minister's vision for a greener India.”

IFFCO’s Senior Manager of EPC (Engineering Projects & Construction), Mr. Umesh Kumar, shared that the organization has already completed the plantation of 4,500 saplings within its campus. “In the coming days, we plan to extend this green drive to nearby villages and community areas. The goal is to not only enhance biodiversity but also raise awareness among locals about environmental stewardship,” he added.

Present during the ceremony were senior figures from IFFCO, including Senior General Manager Mr. A.P. Rajendran and Joint General Manager Mr. Arun Kumar. The event also saw enthusiastic participation from IFFCO Officers Association President Mr. Anurag Tiwari, General Secretary Mr. Swayam Prakash, EPC Manager Mr. Manoj Tiwari, and a large gathering of IFFCO employees and local residents.

The "One Tree for Mother 2.0" campaign is an extension of a nationwide movement, blending emotional significance with ecological impact. The idea of dedicating a tree to one’s mother has resonated deeply with participants, bringing personal meaning to the act of plantation.
