DIOS Cracks Down on Unrecognized Schools Operating Beyond Permitted Grades in Mathura
Mathura DIOS orders FIRs and departmental action against eight unrecognized schools running illegal upper-grade classes.
Mathura: In a decisive move to protect students from educational malpractice, the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) in Mathura, Ravindra Singh, has directed that First Information Reports (FIRs) be filed against eight school operators. These schools were found to be operating unrecognized classes beyond their permitted level, posing a serious threat to the academic future of students.
The action comes after multiple complaints were received about schools functioning illegally in the Baldev and Chhata police station jurisdictions. Responding promptly, DIOS Singh constituted a three-member inquiry committee to inspect the institutions in question.
The committee's findings revealed serious irregularities. One school was operating without any formal recognition, while seven others had authorization only up to Class 5 but were conducting classes up to 10th and 12th standards, thereby violating the norms of the education department.
A particularly concerning case was "SRCG Vidya Mandir Naugaon, Chaumuha, Chhata", which had official recognition only till the primary level but was conducting classes from 6th to 12th grade. Acting on the report, DIOS Singh ordered immediate closure of such operations and instructed local police stations to register FIRs against the following institutions:
Pragya Public School
Shri Girvar Shiksha Mandir
GPS Vidya Valley
Sun Modern Publication School
Bhartiya SRK Inter College, Naugaon
Radhika Public School, Naugaon
Disawar Public School, Daulatpur, Baldev
The DIOS emphasized that running unrecognized schools or conducting higher-level classes without proper accreditation is illegal and detrimental to students' educational records and future opportunities. “Such institutions mislead parents and endanger children's prospects. Strict action will be taken without exception,” he stated.
In addition to FIRs, departmental actions are also being initiated against the individuals responsible. These steps include potential derecognition, blacklisting of school management, and further legal consequences.
The district education department has also urged parents to verify the recognition status of schools before enrolling their children. A list of recognized schools is available on the official DIOS portal, and any suspected irregularities can be reported directly to the DIOS office.
This crackdown serves as a strong warning to unauthorized educational institutions operating under the guise of legitimacy. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring that students receive education only from recognized, regulation-compliant schools.
As investigations continue, more such institutions may come under scrutiny in the coming days.
