CERC Chairman, Member Visit NTPC Tanda
CERC Chairman and Member (Technical) visited NTPC Tanda to review plant operations, safety measures, and future sustainability plans.

Ambedkar Nagar: In a significant two-day visit, Mr. Jishnu Barua, IAS, Chairman of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), and Mr. Ramesh Babu V., Member (Technical), arrived at the NTPC Tanda project on August 9 and 10, 2025. This visit underscored the regulatory body's proactive role in overseeing the country's power generation infrastructure.
Upon their arrival at Ayodhya Airport, the dignitaries were accorded a warm welcome by Mr. Jaydev Parida, Executive Director of NTPC Tanda, and other senior officials. Their itinerary was packed with a series of inspections and interactions designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the plant's operations.
During their stay, the CERC officials were given a detailed tour of the plant's facilities. They paid close attention to the operational procedures, safety measures, and various developmental initiatives undertaken by NTPC Tanda. The tour included inspections of key areas such as the Saryu Bhavan Guest House, NFNDRC, the Stage-II Control Room, and the administrative building. The officials also engaged in a productive dialogue with the SMC members and other officers, gaining valuable insights into the day-to-day functioning and challenges faced by the plant.
On the second day, August 10, the focus shifted to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The guests participated in a tree plantation program, a part of NTPC's ongoing sustainable development initiatives. This event highlighted the company's commitment to environmental stewardship. Following this, they visited the scenic Saryu Ghat, a testament to the plant's efforts to maintain and beautify its surroundings.
A key highlight of the visit was the detailed discussion on the plant's operational excellence and future plans. The CERC officials and NTPC Tanda management deliberated on strategies to enhance the plant's efficiency and ensure long-term stability. Their valuable suggestions are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the plant's future direction.
The entire NTPC Tanda family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the CERC Chairman and Member (Technical) for their insightful recommendations and encouragement.
