Hindustan Shiv Sena Slams Omar Govt Over Broken Promises
Hindustan Shiv Sena criticizes Omar Abdullah’s government for failing to deliver on election promises, including jobs and free electricity.

Jammu : In a scathing critique of the Omar Abdullah-led National Conference (NC) government, Hindustan #ShivSena State President Vikrant Kapoor has accused the ruling party of completely failing to fulfill its pre-election commitments to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing a press conference in Jammu today, Kapoor stated that the promise of free electricity and mass employment for youth has proven to be nothing more than an illusion meant to mislead voters.
"The government has betrayed the faith of the people. The National Conference lured citizens with dreams of free electricity and large-scale job creation. But after coming to power, these promises have turned out to be hollow," said Kapoor, expressing deep concern over the deteriorating situation for the common man across the state.
He pointed out that the reality on the ground is far removed from the tall claims made by the government. "The youth are still running pillar to post for employment. Instead of creating lakhs of jobs as promised, the administration has failed to even maintain the momentum of existing development works. Nothing has changed for the better," Kapoor remarked.
He also took a strong stand against the state's recent move to make the Urdu language compulsory in the recruitment of Naib Tehsildars. Terming the decision discriminatory, especially for Jammu-based aspirants, Kapoor demanded that Urdu be made an optional subject. He further insisted on the inclusion of Hindi and other regional subjects to ensure a level playing field for all candidates.
"The move is a direct injustice to Jammu's youth. The government must withdraw this discriminatory clause, or face growing unrest among the region's young population," Kapoor said.
The Hindustan Shiv Sena also accused the government of selective implementation of the free electricity scheme. "Instead of benefiting the masses, only a limited section has been covered under the free electricity announcement. This selective approach is a betrayal of the original promise," Kapoor noted.
He alleged that the current administration is no different from the previous LG regime when it comes to addressing public grievances. “People had hoped for change through elections, but their problems remain the same. The so-called elected representatives have turned out to be ineffective and disconnected from ground realities.”
In a warning to the government, Kapoor stated that if urgent steps are not taken to fulfill electoral promises and correct policy missteps, the Hindustan Shiv Sena will be compelled to launch a strong agitation across the state.
Prominent party members present at the press conference included Sunil Dogotra, Rakesh Bardhwa, Baba Ram Kaith, Abhishek, Himanshu, Amit, and women's wing leader Jyoti Devi. The leaders collectively expressed disappointment in the NC government and resolved to intensify public outreach and protests in the coming weeks if the situation does not improve.
