New Delhi. The Supreme Court of the country stayed the punishment of Rahul Gandhi in the Modi surname case after the arguments of Rahul Gandhi's lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi. After this order, the exercise to restore their membership will now begin. There is great enthusiasm among the Congress workers after this if by the court. Rahul reached the AICC headquarters at 3:30 pm. Masked workers of Rahul gave him a grand welcome with drum beats. Party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi and Organization Secretary KC Venugopal were also present with Rahul.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that while welcoming the Supreme Court's decision, democracy and the Constitution have won. Satyamev Jayate has won. He said that the Constitution is still alive. This is an example of how justice can be done. Kharge said that this is the victory of the common people and not just Rahul Gandhi. A person who fights for the truth and for the country's interest. Fights against inflation, and unemployment, India has won this victory with the prayers of the people who met in Jodo Yatra.
Taking a dig at the Modi government, the Congress president said that an order came against Rahul Gandhi to terminate membership in 24 hours. Now let's see how quickly membership is restored. The distance between the Supreme Court and the Parliament is only a few kilometers. Hopefully, the membership will be restored by night. Modi government and BJP must have realized their mistake. This decision is a victory for the voters of Wayanad.

At the same time, after Kharge's statement, Rahul Godhi thanked the people and said that if not today, then tomorrow, then the day after tomorrow, truth wins. But whatever it is, my path is clear what I have to do, what my work is, I have absolute clarity in my mind about it, I am very thankful for the people who helped us, the love and support given by the public. i do
Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary said that he met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and requested immediate restoration of Rahul's MP. On this, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha has said to wait until the copy of the decision arrives.

Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who appeared in the Supreme Court, expressed surprise at the two-year sentence given to Rahul Gandhi and said that it is surprising that the court has given a two-year sentence in a defamation case. This is not a case of kidnapping, rape, and murder, in which the culprit should be given maximum punishment. The maximum sentence will have the effect of silencing Rahul Gandhi for the next 8 years, as he will not be able to contest any election after this verdict.

On this, Judge BR Gavai reprimanded Singhvi and said that the judge who delivered the verdict also talks about the old criminal cases of Rahul Gandhi. To this, Singhvi responded by saying that there was a defamation case filed against Rahul earlier, in which he had apologized. Apart from this, all cases have been registered on the basis of complaints made by BJP workers.

Nishant Mandal, who is an advocate in the Supreme Court, said that the relief that Rahul Gandhi has got from this decision has three strong bases that go to his bosom. The first trial court had given a maximum sentence of two years in this case, but the session court and the high court did not give any solid basis for it in their decision. Second, Rahul Gandhi's right to public life has been affected by this decision.

Thirdly, due to this decision, the right of the voters of Rahul Gandhi's Lok Sabha constituency Wayanad is also affected by the punishment, so it is necessary to stop it. Lawyer Nishant Mandal says that now Rahul Gandhi will have to apply to the Lok Sabha Secretariat. In this, Rahul will inform that his punishment has been stayed by the Supreme Court. Along with this application, they have to attach a copy of the court decision. After this, the secretariat will issue an order to restore their membership.
