The situation in Haiti, a country adjoining the Caribbean Sea, has deteriorated badly. The country has come into crisis due to the terror of armed gangs.
Due to the violence that has been going on for the last several months, millions of citizens have fled from their homes. According to media reports, Haiti's Prime Minister Gary Conille narrowly escaped a shootout outside a hospital on Monday.
India has come forward to help Haiti, which is struggling with gang violence, a collapsing medical system and lack of access to essential supplies. India not only helps its neighbouring countries but also helps other distant countries in crisis on humanitarian grounds.
India has spent a huge amount of money to promote the renewable-clean energy sector of Caribbean countries, so that pollution and environmental challenges can be tackled. India has also increased its budget continuously for the last few years to help needy countries.
