BJP Protests Against J&K Assembly Resolution on Special Status
BJP protests in Jammu, challenging J-K Assembly’s resolution advocating restoration of special status.
Jammu:The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu and Kashmir has strongly condemned the recent resolution passed by the state assembly, which sought the restoration of Article 370. Led by party president Sat Paul Sharma, BJP workers staged a protest in Jammu, burning effigies of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his deputy Surinder Choudhary.
The BJP has labeled the resolution as "anti-India" and a futile attempt to revive a provision that was revoked by the central government in 2019. The party maintains that Article 370 had fostered separatism and terrorism in the region, and its abrogation was a crucial step towards peace and development.
