Lucknow Celebrates Young Sanskrit Scholars at Annual Award Ceremony
Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Institute celebrates student talents with awards across 11 Sanskrit disciplines.
Lucknow:The Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Institute inaugurated the Sanskrit Talent Recognition Ceremony on October 26, 2024, at its premises. The event commenced at 10:30 a.m. with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and a warm welcome of distinguished guests. Director Vinay Srivastava highlighted the event's purpose, noting that over 25,000 participants, including students and teachers, take part in competitions ranging from Sanskrit recitation to general knowledge. This year, 300 winners from 7,000 participants across 11 categories at the state level will receive awards.
Chief Guest Jitendra Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Language Department, emphasized the importance of promoting Sanskrit. He referred to the Chief Minister's 2017 statement encouraging students in all schools, regardless of the board, to engage in basic Sanskrit conversation. The two-day state-level competition aims to identify and nurture hidden talent, providing a platform for students to shine. The initiative represents the Institute's commitment to the preservation and promotion of Sanskrit.
