Sullah MLA Vipin Parmar reviews progress of Rs 250 crore Parour-Thanpuri four-lane project

Palampur: Sullah MLA Vipin Singh Parmar inspected the ongoing construction work on the ₹250-crore Parour-Thanpuri four-lane highway project across Drang, Dhoran, Ghaneta, and adjoining areas in Kangra district. The site visit aimed to assess project progress and directly address infrastructure and accessibility concerns raised by local residents.  

Parmar held detailed discussions with officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), representatives of the construction firm Riddhi Siddhi, revenue officers, and local panchayat leaders. During inspections at Drang, Cheliyan, and 61 Mile, villagers highlighted crucial requirements including pedestrian footbridges, service lanes, proper drainage systems, retaining walls, and the restoration of natural water sources impacted by earthmoving activities.  Key Highlights:Public Grievances Addressed:

Underlining that infrastructure development must align with community welfare, Parmar assured affected families that their legitimate demands would be prioritized. Officials present included NHAI Project Director PD Umakant, BDC vice-chairman Sukhdev Masand, local gram panchayat pradhans, and community members who welcomed the active oversight.
