Medanta Lucknow Introduces Monthly Free OPD for Senior Citizens in Ashiyana

Lucknow: In a major boost to elderly healthcare accessibility, Medanta Hospital, Lucknow, has launched a dedicated free Outpatient Department (OPD) service specifically for senior citizens. The service is being hosted at the Second Innings Senior Citizens Club in Ashiyana, aiming to bring world-class medical expertise directly to the doorsteps of the elderly.

Recognizing the physical and logistical challenges many seniors face when traveling to large hospital campuses, this initiative ensures that specialized consultation is available within their neighborhood. The free clinic will be held on the first Wednesday of every month between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM.

The OPD will be led by Dr. Mahim Mittal, Director of Internal Medicine at Medanta Lucknow. With over 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Mittal is a renowned specialist in managing complex health conditions. During the inaugural session, he emphasized that regular check-ups are vital for the elderly to manage age-related complications effectively before they turn into emergencies.

"Our objective is to bridge the gap between expert medical care and those who need it most but find it hardest to travel," Dr. Mittal stated.

Atul Dubey, Founder of the Second Innings Senior Citizens Club, expressed deep gratitude toward Medanta for the collaboration. He noted that having a senior physician available at their Sector K facility would significantly improve health awareness and provide a safety net for club members.

The facility, located at 1289, Sector K, Ashiyana, is now open for monthly consultations, offering a much-needed health resource for the local elderly population.
