BSP Hosts Mega Blood Donation & Health Camp in Kanpur’s Gujaini

Kanpur : A massive voluntary blood donation and free health check-up camp was organised at the Ambedkar Statue site in Gujaini, Kanpur, under the aegis of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Govind Nagar assembly constituency, led by party worker Ashish Kashyap.

The event commenced following preliminary health screenings conducted by Dr. Richa Bajpai, In-charge of the Blood Bank at Ursula Hospital, alongside BSP organizer Ashish Kashyap. Under the supervision of Dr. Bajpai's medical team, a total of 35 donors voluntarily donated blood during the drive. To appreciate their civic contribution, all donors were honored with certificates of appreciation, while the attending medical team received commemorative mementos.

In addition to the blood donation drive, the camp featured comprehensive public health services, including complimentary blood pressure and blood sugar screenings. Patients were also provided with prescription medicines and eyeglasses at highly subsidized rates.

A specialized eye check-up section was conducted by Dr. S.K. Pandey, an ophthalmologist from Kanika Hospital, Harsh Nagar. During the eye screenings, 10 patients were diagnosed with cataracts and selected for free surgical procedures. These operations will be performed by Dr. Sharad Bajpai at Kanika Hospital using the advanced, stitchless, and incision-free phacoemulsification technique during the upcoming Navratri festival.

Organizers announced that ongoing free cataract screening camps will continue every week—at Vishambhar Singh Inter College in Gujaini Village every Saturday, and at the Ambedkar Statue near Gujaini Sabzi Mandi every Monday. Prior registration is mandatory for candidates, who must bring photocopies of their Aadhaar card, Ayushman card, voter ID, or ration card.

Key contributors who facilitated the smooth execution of the camp included Ramesh Sihwani, Dharmendra Fatwani, Shipra Pamnani, Naveen Tulsani, Kishor Lalwani, Jaiveer Singh, Umesh Tiwari, Shekhar Singh, Omprakash Pappu, Arvind Jaiswar, Jitendra Kashyap, and Sushil Mistry.
