Lucknow : In a significant push to bolster infrastructure and industrial development, the Uttar Pradesh government, under its Warehousing and Logistics Policy-2022, has approved strategic support for two major private sector projects. The Empowered Committee, chaired by Chief Secretary Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, convened its first official meeting today and sanctioned Letters of Comfort (LoC) to two firms—OWM Logipark Varanasi LLP and KMRA Associates LLP, Unnao.

As part of the policy framework, both companies will receive capital subsidies of ₹4.89 crore and ₹4.90 crore respectively. These projects are expected to drive robust job creation and enhance storage infrastructure in eastern and central Uttar Pradesh.

During the meeting, CEO of UPLCIDA, Mr. Mayur Maheshwari, shared that a total of 20 companies have been allotted Unique IDs for logistics projects under this policy. These companies represent a cumulative investment commitment of ₹1,416 crore, with all projects currently under various stages of implementation.

The two projects approved for LoC have met the policy’s eligibility threshold, which mandates a minimum investment of ₹20 crore over at least 1 lakh square feet of warehousing space. Under the policy, eligible investors can avail of a 15% capital subsidy, capped at ₹5 crore.

Project Highlights : OWM Logipark Varanasi LLP has invested ₹33.29 crore to develop a warehousing facility across 8.94 acres in village Bihra, tehsil Rajatalab, Varanasi.

KMRA Associates LLP has deployed ₹44.58 crore over 12 acres in village Rasoolpur, tehsil Hasanganj, Unnao.

These state-backed investments are set to transform the warehousing landscape of Uttar Pradesh, ensuring better storage solutions for agriculture, retail, and manufacturing sectors. Additionally, the projects are expected to create direct and indirect employment opportunities in their respective regions, aligning with the state's goal of becoming a logistics hub in northern India.

The meeting was also attended by Principal Secretary IT & Electronics Mr. Anurag Yadav and Secretary Infrastructure & Industrial Development Mr. Vijay Kiran Anand, among other senior officials.

The Uttar Pradesh Warehousing and Logistics Policy-2022 is designed to attract large-scale private investments by offering fiscal incentives and streamlined project clearances. The government aims to turn the state into a pivotal logistics corridor, enhancing last-mile connectivity and fostering an investor-friendly ecosystem.

With a strong policy framework and proactive governance, Uttar Pradesh continues to rise as a prominent destination for logistics and industrial expansion in India.
