Rajan Shahi and Ishika Shahi Unveil Jersey for 'Stars Bat for Strays' Celebrity Cricket League
Celebrity Cricket League : Rajan and Ishika Shahi launch "Stars Bats For Strays"

Mumbai : Producer Rajan Shahi and his daughter Ishika Shahi unveiled the official jersey of Stars Bats For Strays, a unique celebrity cricket league that blends India’s passion for cricket with compassion for stray animals. The launch, part of the CPPCL (Celeb Paw-er Play Cricket League), brings together celebrities, influencers, journalists, and fans to create awareness and raise funds for animal welfare.
Calling the initiative close to his heart, Rajan Shahi said he was proud to be part of a movement that uses cricket for a meaningful purpose. “Cricket with a cause is always special. What makes this initiative even more beautiful is that it’s not just about playing a sport, it’s about sending out a message of compassion. Stray animals deserve love, care, and dignity, and if we as public figures can influence even a little change, then it’s worth it,” he said. Ishika Shahi, sharing her excitement at the jersey launch, echoed the same sentiment.
“For me, being part of this is about empathy. I’ve grown up around pets, and I know how much love animals give back. To see celebrities and fans unite for strays through something as loved as cricket is inspiring. This jersey today signals responsibility, and I’m proud to stand for this cause,” she said.
The CPPCL, conceptualised by actor Hunar Hali and marketer-turned-former journalist Aarti Notiyal, aims to move beyond fear-driven approaches to strays. Instead of relegating them to shelters where survival is uncertain, the campaign highlights coexistence through scientifically informed and compassionate solutions. Funds raised through the tournament will be directed to YODA (Youth Organisation in Defence of Animals) to support stray welfare. With LUFT - The Air as Hospitality Partner, the initiative is being backed as both a sporting spectacle and a humanitarian effort.
